UPS Shipment Tracking

Track a UPS package with the same universal tool used for other supported couriers and freight carriers. The official UPS website shows the shipment history and current delivery information.

UPS is preferred when the number is ambiguous. You can choose another carrier below.

Which UPS number should I use?

UPS small-package references often start with 1Z and have 18 characters in total. We recognise that pattern and check its check digit. UPS has other reference formats too, which may require choosing UPS manually or using its official reference search.

Format example: 1Z999AA10123456784. Examples illustrate identifiers, not live shipments.

Copy all characters after 1Z

A 1Z reference includes letters as well as digits. Keep the full number from the shipment label. A check-digit warning helps flag a transcription error but does not establish whether UPS has received a parcel; even a correctly formed example is not a real tracking record.

Delivery notice and reference searches

UPS also accepts other tracking identifiers, including delivery notices and references used by freight services. Automatic detection here focuses on the supported 1Z package pattern. If your identifier differs, use the appropriate UPS search method rather than changing the number to resemble a 1Z reference.

Delivered but not received

Review the UPS delivery details and check the stated location or recipient. Ask household members or the receiving desk if appropriate. If the parcel remains missing, contact the seller and official UPS support with the tracking reference so the relevant shipment can be investigated.

One universal tool, official carrier records

You can use the same tool for other supported services. Numbers are processed in your browser; status appears on the official carrier page. Where prefill is unavailable, copy the number and enter it there. For broader reference guidance, see parcel & courier tracking.
