FedEx Shipment Tracking

Use universal tracking for a FedEx parcel number or supported door-tag reference. Open FedEx’s official record for delivery progress and the options available for that shipment.

FedEx is preferred when the number is ambiguous. You can choose another carrier below.

Which FedEx number should I use?

The tracker recognises common FedEx numeric lengths of 12, 15, 20 and 22 digits, and door tags beginning DT followed by 12 digits. These are supported patterns, not a complete list of every FedEx service reference.

Format example: 794612345678. Examples illustrate identifiers, not live shipments.

Tracking ID versus door tag

A door tag is left after a delivery attempt and is linked to the package reference. If the tag is what you have, keep the DT prefix. The official FedEx tool can use the door tag to find the relevant shipment; the tag’s instructions explain any redelivery or pickup action.

A delivery exception is a reason to read the detail

An exception does not identify one universal cause. Open the full FedEx event record to see whether the issue concerns an address, a delivery attempt, clearance or another interruption. Available delivery changes depend on the shipment and must be made with FedEx, not on HS Code Atlas.

Check outbound and return labels separately

An order and its return can have separate tracking references. Use the number on the label for the direction you are checking. If the merchant only supplied an order ID, request the actual FedEx tracking ID rather than assuming the shop reference will open a package record.

One universal tool, official carrier records

You can use the same tool for other supported services. Numbers are processed in your browser; status appears on the official carrier page. Where prefill is unavailable, copy the number and enter it there. For broader reference guidance, see parcel & courier tracking.
